So after the secret forest, we continued our journey another hour through the Sandhills, through Valentine for a quick lunch, and then to Smith Falls State Park. My role as a volunteer with the NICL takes me on all sorts of adventures across our state and the country. One such role I have is as venue surveyor, as we grow as an organization and need bigger venues for our events. This means traveling across our great state, visiting less traveled areas, and determining if they fit the bill for one of our events. This is the third season I've done this, and the first time I've done this while also sneaking on my realtor hat now and again. This past weekend, we hit up seven different Nebraska State Parks and Recreation areas over three days and drove over fourteen hours to hit them all.
